The Curriculum

Sutton Tuition and Reintegration Service aims to:

  • Provide a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum for our pupils
  • Provide a flexible and responsive curriculum that can meet the needs of the individual pupil that is referred for education.
  • Provide a curriculum that helps to promote the social inclusion of our pupils by offering support and access to mainstream opportunities.

At KS1 and 2: Our focus is on the delivery of an age appropriate curriculum and reintegration back to the school placement a soon as the pupil’s health will allow.

At KS3: Our focus is on the delivery of an age appropriate curriculum and reintegration back to mainstream or special school as soon as the pupil’s health will allow.

At KS4: The focus is on the delivery of an appropriate curriculum and if re-integration back to school is not possible then attention is given to supporting pupils through examination courses and progression into further education, training and employment. To realise the above the Curriculum offered will be as broad and as flexible as possible to allow pupils with a variety of health issues to access as much as they are able. In doing this the Service recognises that it should access education delivered from a variety of sources including 1:1 tuition at home or other venues in the borough such as libraries; FE colleges, alternative providers, online packages and voluntary run courses.

Pupils in KS4 study GCSE courses in English language, English literature, mathematics, science and art. In addition we also offer a range of vocational qualifications including: Creative i Media; Food and Cookery; Sport and fitness as well as Construction skills.
